Meet PAL Hershey and join him as he prepares for a school visit! Through rhythm, rhyme, and alphabetical sequence, children will gain a deeper understanding of the role of a reading therapy dog.
The introductory pages invite children to connect with Hershey as a dog and explore his hobbies and compare them to similar interests that they may share. (Be ready for some silly photos, captions, and questions for the reader as Hershey shares some of his favorite times outside of his role as a reading therapy dog!)
The second half of the book is an extensive resource section, divided between children and parents, educators, and dog handlers. An interactive reflection section for children is designed to enrich and extend children’s learning, complete with ways to send messages, pictures, and notes to PAL Hershey. (Maybe your child would like to become a pen pal with PAL Hershey.)
Proceeds will benefit People Animals Love (PAL), the non-profit therapy dog organization serving the DC Metro area.
