About Hershey, The Therapy Dog

Hershey Is An Akc Registered Therapy Dog Who Has Earned Many Awards And Titles.

As a registered therapy dog, Hershey spreads joy and happiness during his visits to nursing homes, assisted living centers, senior centers, homeless shelters, centers for adults with disabilities, federal government agencies, libraries, schools and more.

Hershey is an active therapy dog through the following AKC recognized therapy dog organizations:

  • People Animals Love (PAL) Serving the Washington, DC metropolitan area
  • Alliance of Therapy Dogs
  • K9 Reading Buddies of the North Shore

VIRTUAL ZOOM VISITS

Hershey also volunteers his services virtually through Zoom sessions for both children and adults.

Dr. Donna Snyder

Donna is the owner and handler of Hershey. She is a former teacher, principal, principal mentor, Director of Early Childhood/Elementary Ed. for a large, urban school system. She has led K-12 school improvement and is an experienced school turnaround principal, focused on increasing academic achievement of students in underperforming schools. She has served as Chief Education Officer for a diverse K-16 international education company, serving over 45,000 students each year. She often presents at national and international conferences related to instruction, assessment, school climate, leadership and school improvement.
